Simisola Kosoko, a Nigerian Afrobeats singer, has advocated for rapists to face the death penalty. Nigerian Afrobeats singer Simisola Kosoko, popularly known as Simi, has called for capital punishment for rapists.

Simi reportedly appealed in response to multiple rape allegations reported in various parts of the country in recent weeks.

Simi wrote on her social media page that citizens and authorities should put an end to sexual assault against women and that perpetrators should be castrated and burnt alive.

Simi stated that she was advocating for rape victims because almost every woman she knew had been sexually assaulted at some point in her life.

She argued that it is wrong to prevent people from speaking out against sexual assault because of false rape allegations.

Simi also expressed concern that many women are unsafe and urged men to hold their fellow men accountable, noting that men are creating an enabling environment for rapists by failing to hold others accountable.

She wrote, “I’m sick of it. Stop raping women. Rapists need to be castrated and burnt.

“Almost every woman I know has experienced sexual assault at some point in their lives. You can’t believe it’s acceptable to prevent people from speaking out about assault because some people lie. If you lie, you should face the consequences, but that is not the topic of our conversation. It is also not something I am interested in having.

“How many of your male friends have they lied about?” How many of your friends have actually assaulted women for vibes? Women are terrified of going out. Women are also unsafe in their own homes. Just ask your sisters. Ask your female friends and girlfriends. Consult your wives. We are not all crazy. “Stop raping women!!”
