The new president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Abubakar Yakubu, has appointed Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) star cum actress, Tega Dominic, as special adviser on sexual harassment to the guild.
It was reported that the AGN announced Tega’s appointment in an Instagram story post on Thursday, January 29, 2026.
Reacting to the development, Tega, who shared her appointment letter on Instagram, outlined her commitment.
She stated, “My commitment is clear: education, awareness, and accountability, zero tolerance for sexual harassment, protection and support for survivors, safe and confidential reporting systems, and a culture of unwavering respect.”
Tega rose to prominence in 2021 after appearing on the ‘Shine Ya Eye’ edition of the reality show BBNaija.
In other news, AGN has lifted the suspension of Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar, bringing an end to a disciplinary action that lasted over a year.
The AGN had placed an indefinite suspension on Abubakar in October 2024 over allegations of defamation against fellow actors and prominent Nigerians. After a two-year investigation, a disciplinary panel found her guilty and barred her from participating in any guild-related activities or film projects.
However, the guild announced on Thursday that the suspension had been lifted.
The outgoing National President of AGN, Emeka Rollas, made the announcement during the inauguration of the guild’s new National Executive Council (NEC) held at the AGN national secretariat in Abuja.
