TV personality IK Osakioduwa has disclosed that because of his personal values and faith, he declines lucrative endorsement deals from tobacco and alcohol companies.
He claimed in a recent interview on WithChude that his portrayal of himself as a family-friendly brand is influenced by his relationship with God.
“My choice to present myself as a family-friendly brand in public stems from my relationship with God,” he stated.
“If you look more closely at our business practices, you will see that we never compromise our morals for financial gain,” he said.
IK revealed that this position has cost him a lot of money because these brands frequently provide lucrative offers.
‘They’ve lost a lot of money,’ he said, ‘but they never put money before morality.’
“We don’t work for those companies. We won’t work for a tobacco company, for example. We won’t be hosting any tobacco or alcohol brands.
We have lost a lot of money as a result of those decisions, so they are intentional. The money is in there. They earn the most money, and I don’t condemn anyone who does,” he declared.
Citing Jesus’ transformation of water into wine as an example, he clarified that he is not passing judgment on those who work with such brands.
Since Jesus transformed water into wine, working with them is not sinful. However, I think it’s a role God intended for me to take early in my career,” he stated.
In actuality, an alcohol deal was the first significant job that would have paid me millions of dollars.
He claims that God told him to take a position on this matter early in his career and that he has remained true to it in spite of alluring offers.
“I’ve learned to not act solely for financial gain and to recognise that money comes and goes. I believe my life has been going in a straight line for the longest time because of this.
