The “Afrobeats Big 3” are the greatest Afrobeats musicians of all time, according to Nigerian singer Ayra Starr.

In a recent interview with Hot 97 FM, the “Rush” crooner revealed that her top three Afrobeats stars are Rema, Wizkid, and Tiwa Savage.

Fans and music lovers have been talking about her choice, especially since well-known Afrobeats heavyweights Davido and Burna Boy were left off.

Due to their widespread influence and financial success, Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy are frequently referred to as the “Big 3” in the Afrobeats scene by both fans and critics.

But Ayra Starr’s list went in a different direction; in addition to Wizkid, the singer selected Rema and Tiwa Savage.

“Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, and Rema are my solid Big 3 in Afrobeats,” she declared.

Since then, her remarks have sparked discussion on social media, with fans debating the changing dynamics of Afrobeats and the impact of various artist generations.

The singer also shared her reasons for moving to New York City, USA, from Nigeria.

In a different interview with media personality Angela Yee, Ayra Starr stated that the presence of friends and the city’s cultural milieu had an impact on her choice.

She claimed to have spent a significant amount of time in the city during the previous two summers and had ultimately made the decision to remain there for some time.

“I’ve been in New York for the past two summers, and last summer I spent roughly three months with my friends in Hell’s Kitchen.” We were viewing American television series and films. “It was enjoyable,” she remarked.

The singer went on to say that although she had always desired to grow up in the United States, convenience and time differences ultimately determined the location.

Although Los Angeles was an alternative, she stated that the time and distance between Nigeria and the city affected her choice.

Additionally, I had always wanted to travel to America as a child. So which city would I want to go? LA is too far away, and there is a nine-hour time difference with Nigeria. So, I decided on New York,” she said.
