Police in Rwanda have cautioned content creator Joe Bassey against making videos on busy roads after he uploaded a video showing off the cleanliness of the nation while sitting on a road.
The Rwandan police emphasised that such actions violate traffic safety regulations and pose risks to the individual as well as other road users, even though they acknowledged the positive intent of the video.
The authorities stressed safety and compliance with rules by advising content creators to film in safe locations, according to a statement on X.
While we appreciate the good intentions behind this clip, the Rwandan police wrote: “Hello, recording content on the road is unsafe and violates road safety regulations as it puts road users at risk.” We recommend that filming be done in secure locations for everyone’s safety. Thank you.
