Former Big Brother Naija housemate Adeoluwa Okusaga, also known as Saga, revealed that joining the reality show was a deliberate move to launch his entertainment career.

In an interview with Channels TV, Saga stated that colleagues encouraged him to audition despite not watching the show.

“My coworkers literally begged me to go on Big Brother; I never watched the show,” he explained.

He claims that his participation was not accidental but rather intentional.

“I went to Big Brother Naija to start my career as an entertainer. “When I was an engineering student in school, I completely ignored the creatives. “I officially began drawing the year after I graduated from school,” he added.

Saga, an engineering graduate, saw parallels between his technical background and artistic pursuits, citing Leonardo da Vinci as an example of someone who excelled in both areas.

“I love engineering. I enjoy engineering as well. That’s why so many artists become engineers, because being an engineer requires a strong imagination.

“So you must have imagination, understanding, and skill as well. Additionally, these are… You also need to be smart.

“And you have to be intelligent. So many artists, like Da Vinci, whom I admire, go on to become engineers because there’s a parallel between engineering and science,” he explained.

According to him, after graduation, he became serious about music, fitness, and visual art, and he credits Big Brother Naija with changing his career path.

“When I was in school, I did not do any creative work. So, when my classmates see me now, they are surprised. Back then, they only knew me for technical drawing. I enjoyed drawing diagrams and even completed assignments for others.

“I focused on engineering in school. After I left, I investigated everything. I’d bring my drawing board to work, set it on my table, and draw offshore. “I’d draw, work out, and sing,” he explained.

“The Big Brother experience was positive. It was difficult at the time, but in retrospect, it was completely worth it. I could not have imagined my life playing out differently.

Saga has since moved into acting, starring in a number of films, and he continues to pursue his creative interests.
