Davido’s logistics manager, Israel DMW, has responded to the controversy over an attempt to prohibit the singer from performing in Edo State.
According to Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo’s Senior Special Assistant on Digital Media, Apostle Kassy Chukwu, Davido has been banned from performing in the state.
Chukwu claimed in a viral video that Edo youths would deal with him if he visited the state.
Reacting to the development, Israel DMW took to Instagram to reject the governor’s aide’s position and distance Edo State residents from his remarks.
Israel described the aide as coming from Ebonyi State and settling in Benin City.
He accused him of becoming a nuisance in the city and questioned his right to speak on behalf of Edo residents.
The logistics manager also denied the alleged ban, claiming that no one had the authority to prevent Davido from visiting Edo State, which he described as the singer’s maternal home.
Israel posted on Instagram: “He’s from Ebonyi State, not Edo. 💯” A genuine settler who has become a major nuisance in Benin City. An APC impostor pastor. A pastor in a beer parlour. Please disregard what he is saying. He is not speaking for the Edolites. No man on this planet can prevent Oga from visiting Edo, his maternal home. Gbeo Wagbon is an idiot pastor.”
