Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, shared a light-hearted moment with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, during a visit to the minister’s office, playfully reminding him of the outcome of the Osun State governorship election.
The exchange, which has since gone viral on social media, was captured in a video posted on Instagram by OfficialPrinceNwauzor. The clip was recorded on Thursday when Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke visited Wike after meeting President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
In the video, Davido, dressed in brown traditional attire, approached the FCT minister with a smile and repeatedly declared, “I won. I beat you guys.”
Responding with a grin, Wike said, “No, no.”
Davido, however, stood his ground, repeating, “I won! I beat you.”
Wike then asked, “You beat us?”
Without hesitation, the singer replied, “I beat you.”
The playful exchange drew laughter from those present, with some voices heard saying, “I beg o”, as the atmosphere remained cheerful.
The moment ended on a respectful note as Davido prostrated before Wike in the traditional Yoruba manner before embracing him, prompting applause and cheers from those in attendance.
Governor Adeleke’s visit to the FCT minister came shortly after he met with President Bola Tinubu on Thursday and, among other things, presented his certificate of return to the president at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
