Olakunle Churchill, a businessman and philanthropist, has dismissed reports that he was arrested in Switzerland for alleged tax evasion, calling the story false and misleading.
Rumours began circulating online on Monday, following reports that Tonto Dikeh’s ex-husband had been arrested in Switzerland.
According to reports, one of his associates is under investigation for a company involved in agricultural imports and international trade that is allegedly linked to the Churchill Group of Companies.
Churchill responded on his Instagram page, saying the claims were false.
He blamed the story’s spread on jealousy and the dissemination of false information, claiming that such actions continue to cause unnecessary problems.
He explained that he has always preferred to keep many aspects of his personal life and business activities hidden from public view.
According to him, choosing privacy should not be interpreted as an attempt to conceal anything; it is simply a personal principle he has upheld over time.
Churchill also stated that he is not under investigation or legal action.
He stated that he has no police matter, court case, or criminal issue anywhere, and that reports implying otherwise are completely false and should not be believed.
He wrote, “We Nigerians can sometimes be our own worst enemy. The jealousy, negativity, and constant dissemination of false information are exhausting.
“Over the years, I’ve decided to keep many aspects of my personal and professional life private. That choice should never be interpreted as having something to hide. I value privacy and intend to maintain it.
“To clarify, I have no police, court, or criminal cases. Any claims to the contrary are completely false and should be treated as such.
“My focus remains on growing businesses, creating opportunities, supporting meaningful causes, and continuing to do work that is truly important. Those who know me recognise that my values, actions, and consistency speak louder than speculation.
“Your uncle is now in his third decade of entrepreneurship, strategic investments, and philanthropy. Three decades of starting businesses, creating jobs, empowering people, and leaving a legacy that speaks louder than words.
“Hate will not bring him down, and false narratives will not erase decades of hard work. Results will always outlast opinions. Give the man the flowers.
“I am grateful to God for His grace and protection. Truth needs no defence; only time. “I will keep moving forward with integrity, dignity, and unwavering faith.”
