Don Jazzy, a Nigerian music executive, has stated that singer Ayra Starr had a significant impact on his life.
Don Jazzy signed Ayra Starr to his label, Mavin Records, in 2020, following her viral freestyles and song covers on Instagram.
A user with the handle @_Fabianszn shared an old picture of Ayra Starr and praised Don Jazzy for advancing her career.
The post read, “Don Jazzy really saved Ayra Starr; otherwise, she would still be teaching kindergarten children.”
Don Jazzy responded to the post, recalling how they met through an Instagram freestyle and how the singer had changed his life.
He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to see her Instagram freestyle.
“She has definitely changed my life. And she has been nothing but a dream, Starrgirl.”
Don Jazzy has expressed interest in finding a life partner outside of Nigeria, specifically in East Africa.
The Mavin Records CEO made the remark during a playful interaction with fans on Instagram.
A fan described him as a “African treasure” who belongs to the entire continent, not just Nigeria. In response, he agreed in a light-hearted tone and stated that he frequently feels a strong connection to various African countries, including Ghana, South Africa, and Uganda, despite having never visited Uganda.
He went on to make a joke about love and marriage, stating that if he can’t find a wife in Nigeria, he might consider Uganda or Tanzania.
He also mentioned that he had heard positive things about women from those countries.
