Afrobeats artist Rema has shared some details about his pre-performance ritual, which consists of prayer, cigarettes, and alcohol.

The Calm Down crooner reportedly talked to Dazed during an interview at Milan Fashion Week, where he walked the runway for Diesel, according to Naija News.

He clarified that he takes a little tequila, smokes a cigarette, prays, and makes sure everything is set up correctly with his team before every performance.

He asserts that stage acting is more taxing than runway modelling.

He claimed that in order to maintain audience interest throughout a live performance, breathing control and appropriate energy balance are essential.

Rema also disclosed that live Sudanese cultural music has been an inspiration to him recently.

He acknowledged that his greatest weakness is still smoking.

The singer, known for his vibrant stage presence and distinct sound, said he makes conscious efforts to connect with fans during his shows while keeping his performance level high.

He said: “A little tequila, a little cigarettes, pray, just tap in with the team and make sure they got everything on cue. Performing is more stressful than walking the runway. Smoking cigarettes is my biggest vice. I prefer stylish women over wealthy ones, I already have the money.”
