The wife of Fuji singer Shanko Rasheed has accused him of abandoning her and their children following the death of their son. These claims emerged just days after the singer announced on social media that he had lost his child, describing the experience as one that no parent should have to endure.
In a video that has been circulating online, the woman stated that the singer left her during a particularly difficult time in her life. She explained that she had an accident on October 11 that affected her legs, making it impossible for her to work. During this challenging period, she was left alone to care for their three children.
She recounted that their landlord later issued a quit notice, and the singer asked her to take out a loan to cover the rent. After acquiring the money, she claimed that he collected it from her but still failed to provide any support for the family. Ultimately, they were forced out of their home and had to seek temporary shelter in a church.
The woman accused the singer of refusing to pay their children’s school fees despite her numerous pleas for assistance. She added that their late son became ill during this time, and she struggled to pay for his hospital bills, relying on loans and help from kind-hearted individuals to cover the medical expenses.
She called on Nigerians to come to her aid and claimed that the singer has taken custody of their two remaining children. She stated, “I had an accident on October 11 that affected my legs, and I could no longer work. I was left alone to take care of our three children. After my accident, our landlord gave us a quit notice and told me to take a loan to pay the rent. I borrowed the money, but when I brought it to him, he took it from me and still didn’t care for us.
“We were later evicted and had to stay in a church. He refused to pay the school fees despite all my efforts to plead with him. When my son fell ill, I struggled on my own to raise money for his treatment. I took loans and received help from people. I am begging Nigerians to please help me. He has now taken our two children away from me.”
As of this report, the singer has not publicly responded to the allegations.
