Teniola Aladese: Women Must Live Alone Before Marriage

Teniola Aladese, a Nollywood actress, says she thinks women should live independently and alone before getting married instead of moving from their parents’ home to their husband’s. Nollywood actress Teniola Aladese says she believes women should live alone and independently before getting married, rather than the conventional way of leaving their parents’ house for their husband’s house.

In a recent episode of the vodcast That’s What She Said, the actress said that women who live independently before getting married are better prepared for marriage.

Many women simply move from their families’ homes to their husbands’ homes, according to Teniola. However, they are unsure of their preferences and what qualities their future husband possesses. They are therefore taken aback when they enter the house and notice certain behaviours that they have never seen before.

“However, I believe that living alone prior to marriage allows you to get to know yourself, your preferences, and the nonsense you would and wouldn’t tolerate.”

“But everything starts shocking you and regrets creep in when you just enter into marriage without any experience of living on your own,” she continued.
