Burna Boy, the Grammy-winning Nigerian music superstar, has set a new record as the first African artist to earn the most money from a single concert.
Touring Data, a global tour monitoring platform, reports that Burna Boy’s “No Sign of Weakness” tour is the highest-grossing by an African artist in Oceania’s history, with $3.1 million from 31,000 tickets sold across 4 shows.
He reached the milestone during the Sydney stop of his tour at the Qudos Bank Arena in Australia, grossing $1.117 million from a single show.
The ‘No Sign of Weakness’ tour featured 20 shows across three continents: North America, Europe, and Oceania.
During the Oceania leg, four shows in Australia sold approximately 30,946 tickets, generating $3.1 million in revenue.
This achievement demonstrates that African artists can sell out large arenas outside of the continent. Burna Boy’s global tours have become some of the most lucrative for African artists worldwide.
