Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor, better known by her stage name Mama G, has given an explanation for why she is well-known for portraying evil and problematic characters in motion pictures.

In a video posted on her Instagram page, the actress stated that her goal has always been to highlight societal issues rather than encourage negative behaviour.

The veteran reportedly claimed that many of the problems depicted in movies are real-life occurrences that are frequently disregarded or kept out of public discourse.

She claims that she decided to play these parts because she wanted to depict those realities on screen and inspire people to face them.

Ozokwor declared that she was prepared to use her acting career to draw attention to social injustices that many people would rather keep quiet about.

She said the characters she portrayed were designed to reflect situations that occur in communities and families, helping viewers understand the consequences of certain actions.

Mama G said she feels proud of the impact she has made through her work and remains grateful to fans who have supported her throughout her career.

She said, “I felt bold to expose the ills of society. These things happen, and nobody wants to expose them, so I’m exposing them. So I’m extremely proud of myself and Mama G lovers.”
