After being married to the same woman for almost fifty years, veteran Nigerian performer Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has joked about having a dull marriage.

In an interview on Yanga FM, Charly Boy reportedly stated that marriage necessitates ongoing management, emphasising that despite their years together, he and his wife still have frequent arguments.

Charly Boy went on to say that arguments are a typical aspect of marriage.

“I’ve been married to one woman for 48 years,” he declared. It is incredibly dull. Eating the same egusi for years has become monotonous.

“Every marriage, including mine, is managed.” My spouse and I are similar to Tom and Jerry. We fight every day, and we’ll keep fighting until we find a solution.

Charly Boy cited the proverb “the devil you know is better than the one you don’t know” as he thought back on his decades-long marriage.

In other news, Charly Boy recently responded to rumours that President Bola Tinubu had visited imprisoned IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu.

Charly Boy questioned whether any actual conversation occurred during the purported visit in a post on his 𝕏 page.

The activist also expressed disapproval of the state of affairs, claiming that while Kanu’s case has received attention, the government has failed to address certain security issues.

He went on to voice his worries about the nation’s situation, cautioning that Nigeria might suffer grave repercussions if problems pertaining to national security are not adequately addressed.
