At the age of 94, renowned American music executive Clive Davis passed away.
On Monday, Clive Davis, who founded and mentored some of the most famous voices in the American music industry, passed away at his New York City home.
In a statement, Davis’s family confirmed the death and disclosed that the deceased had recently been admitted to the hospital in New York with an upper respiratory infection.
According to the family, Davis will be sorely missed, and his love will last a lifetime.
“To the world, our father was the iconic music legend whose vision, instincts, and relentless pursuit of excellence shaped the soundtrack of countless lives,” the statement continued.
“He made a lasting impact on culture that will last for generations by finding, coaching, and supporting the greatest musicians in modern music history.”
“To his family, Clive was Dad and Granddaddy, the dependable figure at the core of our existence, the fount of knowledge, fortitude, inspiration, and unwavering love. Despite his remarkable career achievements, he never lost sight of what really mattered: the people he loved.
“Family remained Clive’s greatest pride and deepest joy throughout every chapter of his extraordinary life.” Today, we honour the man who guided our family with dignity, kindness, and generosity as well as a legendary figure whose influence altered music forever. We will always treasure him, miss him terribly, and carry his love with us forever.
In 2021, the music executive was diagnosed with Bell’s palsy, among other health issues. He continued to be actively involved in the music business well into his nineties in spite of these setbacks.
Over the course of his more than 60-year career, Davis solidified his standing as one of the most significant executives in the history of contemporary music. He won five Grammy Awards during his remarkable career.
