Nancy Isime, a Nollywood actress, has stated that she does not think couples should reveal their income to one another and that she keeps financial matters private in her relationships.
Speaking on a podcast with media personality Prince Ita, the actress stated that she would never discuss personal income.
She claims that she doesn’t want to disclose her income to a partner and doesn’t expect him to do the same.
Isime reportedly clarified that she respects privacy and feels that certain private matters should stay within personal boundaries.
She stated that she does not think it is necessary to know a partner’s income in a relationship, just as she does not see the need to disclose specifics about her own income.
“I never talk about three things: my money, my money, my money,” she stated. Never tell a man how much I make or for what. Additionally, I don’t want him to talk to me about his. I’m not interested in finding out how much he makes. I don’t mind if he looks through my phone, but why? Never would I ask to look at my man’s phone. You know, I never dreamed about getting married like young girls used to.
“I used to fantasise about working, earning my own money, and being self-sufficient. I worry that I might not even have the wedding of my dreams because, really, what is a dream wedding? Even if I were to get married, it would only be a wedding that we both agreed upon at the same time. It’s okay if we feel like it’s a big wedding. Whatever we feel, even if it’s a small wedding.
