Nigerian musician Skales has voiced his deep dissatisfaction with the nation’s political system, declaring that he does not intend to cast a ballot in the 2027 elections due to his lack of faith in any of the current politicians.
According to reports, he expressed his dissatisfaction with what he called a dearth of qualified candidates who could advance Nigeria in a statement on 𝕏.
He claims that none of the current politicians has gained his trust or demonstrated a sincere desire to advance the nation.
Skales stated that he no longer trusts or believes in the current group of political leaders and that he has not seen any candidate that he believes deserves his vote.
Additionally, he contended that Nigeria needs a new generation of leaders—younger individuals with new perspectives, ideas, and inventiveness—instead of what he called “recycled politicians” who have held office time and time again without producing significant advancements.
“To be honest, I won’t be voting for anyone in 2027!” he wrote. I don’t think there is a worthy candidate who can improve this nation. I haven’t found a candidate worthy of my vote. I don’t trust or believe any of these politicians.
Therefore, I won’t vote for any of them because none of them has shown me that they truly care about this country. We need new politicians who are visionaries rather than the same old ones who have repeatedly demonstrated that they don’t have this figured out. The same politicians who have repeatedly shown themselves to be incompetent? Younger politicians with vision, inventiveness, and other qualities are what we need, not everything that we currently have.
