During his performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup countdown event, Afrobeats musician Davido explained that he wore pins bearing the names of seven teachers and 39 kidnapped children in order to raise awareness of the victims who are still unaccounted for.
The singer reportedly said this in an interview with Waihiga Mwaura, host of Focus on Africa.
As per the country’s reputation, the country’s safety, children, the country’s safety, and innocent children.
Davido claimed that many people avoid discussing Nigeria’s security issues, which is why he chose to use a global platform.
He claimed that when children are still being kidnapped and never found, there is little point in defending the nation’s reputation.
“A lot of people don’t really want to talk about what goes on in my country simply because they want to protect the image, but if little children are being kidnapped, there is no image to protect,” he said.
“There is the power that we have, the world that we have, the world that we have, the world that we have, the world, which we have, the world, which we have to do, the world, which we have, the world, which we have, the world, which we have.
“Where’s my power when I say our own means? My music is my power. These students have been missing and are still unaccounted for. In other words, I project what’s actually happening using my platform.
