Popular Nigerian TikToker Habeeb Hamzat, better known as Peller, has revealed that Nollywood actress cum filmmaker Funke Akindele helped him while he was in prison.

As you may remember, Peller was arrested in December 2025 after he and his girlfriend, Jarvis, broke up and got into a purposeful car accident in Lagos State. It will be recalled that Peller was arrested in December 2025, after being involved in a deliberate car accident in Lagos State following his breakup with his girlfriend, Jarvis.

The Federal Road Safety Corps ordered Peller to be arrested and charged with reckless driving in response to the events that led to the collision.

At the “Love Notes” movie premiere, however, while mingling with Funke Akindele, the actor claimed to have assisted in getting him released from prison.

“She was the one who helped me when I was in prison,” Peller said, thanking Funke for her thoughtful gesture. It was she who saved my life.

Iyabo Ojo, a Nollywood actress, has revealed how Funke’s late mother once intervened to save her kids.

Iyabo Ojo reportedly talked about the help she got years ago while raising her kids, Festus and Priscilla, in an Instagram post, recalling how the doctor’s intervention saved her life.

Iyabo characterised the deceased physician as an exceptional individual whose generosity and intercession transcended her work responsibilities.

She recalled the comfort and security Funke’s mother provided during a period of anxiety and uncertainty, claiming that her intervention guaranteed her kids’ safety.

Iyabo also thought back on how the doctor always provided her with spiritual support and guidance, even when they disagreed, and she always felt her prayers and presence.
