Nigerian musician Spyro has discussed why he thinks some of his peers in the music business went bankrupt after earning money.
He reportedly made the remarks during a performance at an event over the weekend, discussing how rapid success can result in reckless spending.
He claimed that rather than saving or investing their earnings, some artists spent a lot of money on travel, parties, and relationships, particularly with foreign women.
According to Spyro, it’s okay to enjoy life and be giving, but reckless spending can impede financial advancement.
The Who’s Your Guy singer advised the young men in the audience to think long-term rather than just in the present and to be careful with their finances.
The singer went on to say that many people, including social media influencers, tried to get his attention and even offered to pay for his travels after he became well-known and wealthy.
He claimed that in order to concentrate on his musical career and make wiser financial choices, he declined such offers.
“I believe you are wasting your time if you are here and spending money on women. I’m not saying you shouldn’t spend money on your woman, but think things through.
“Some of my coworkers went bankrupt after making their first bag and spending it on parties and trips to South Africa. However, I didn’t move in that manner, which is why I’m in this position,” he remarked.
