Teddy A Responds to Claims That I Was Abusing My Wife Bambam

Tope Adenibuyan, better known by his stage name Teddy A, is a reality TV personality who has talked candidly about the impact that false information about his personal life had on him.

He brought up a report in which he was accused of mistreating his wife, actress Bamike “Bambam” Olawunmi.

According to reports, the singer discussed the matter in an interview that aired on Saturday, February 7, 2026, on the WithChude Podcast.

According to the actor, the abuse claim was the most agonising account of his own life that he had ever read. He remembered that on the day he discovered the report, his wife was at home, watching a movie, unwinding, and pregnant.

Before he started getting odd notifications on his phone, everything appeared to be as usual. He claimed that since he had not posted any fresh content online, the alerts perplexed him.

Curious, he checked social media and began reading comments, only to discover that people were discussing a story that accused him of beating his wife, including during her pregnancy.

He claimed that both he and his wife were taken aback by the accusation. He clarified that Bambam became emotional and kept enquiring about the origin of the story. He said the allegation shocked both him and his wife. Bambam, he explained, became emotional and kept asking where such a story came from.

Teddy A went on to say that he was unable to identify its origin and had no idea who started it. He asked his manager how he should react after the discovery.

He was counselled to let the story fade naturally and to refrain from publicly responding. He accepted the advice at the time and decided to keep quiet. Teddy A, however, claimed that he later realised that his reputation suffered as a result of his silence.

He clarified that even under posts unrelated to the matter, the accusation kept coming up in comment sections long after the original report.

He claimed that the same claim was repeatedly made and that people kept raising it under his personal posts with his wife, casting doubt on their relationship.

He claimed that this occurred in spite of his wife’s attempts to dispel the rumour and prove it was untrue. Teddy A acknowledged that the circumstance influenced people’s perceptions of him and gave the wrong impression of his marriage.

He claimed that the untrue story persisted online and kept influencing perceptions of him in unexpected ways.

“That was a lot when they said I was beating my wife,” he said. I went downstairs after waking up. I was there with my wife, laughing and pregnant, watching a movie.

After that, I looked at my phone and noticed that my notifications were sounding. I said, “I didn’t release any trending content.” What’s happening? What are they saying now, or what did I do? My wife became quite upset as I read the comments and kept enquiring as to who had done this. To be honest, I had no idea; it might have been a former partner or villagers attempting to track me down.

“When I called my manager to ask what we should do, he advised me to simply let it go and not add fuel to the fire. I didn’t realise at the time how much harm my reputation would suffer if I remained silent. People still leave comments and ask if I’m certain I don’t beat my wife, even when my wife and I post pictures of ourselves. What would make them say that? How could they possibly do that? People’s perceptions of me were distorted, which had an impact on me.
