Iyabo Ojo, a Nollywood actress, explains why she gave her former husband a significant role in their daughter Priscilla’s wedding ceremony.

In an interview with Morayo Afolabi Brown, the thespian stated that they made the decision for their child’s sake and a better future for the family.

Ojo stated that she wanted to end a cycle of broken marriages that had affected previous generations in her family.

She stated that such repeated family experiences are often referred to as ancestral curses, and she was determined not to allow the same to occur with her children.

The actress revealed that her own parents did not stay together, and her marriage also ended.

Because of those experiences, she resolved long ago that her children would not be subjected to the same ordeal if she could avoid it.

She claims she made numerous sacrifices to see Priscilla succeed and have a happy marriage.

She stated that it was only right for Priscilla’s father to be present and treated with respect because he is still alive and their daughter’s father.

She stated, “I chose to marry him, so whatever happens between us is private.” It should not extend to children. My parents were separated, and my marriage also failed. I determined that my children would not repeat that pattern. I paid the price to ensure Priscilla’s success and a happy marriage. Because Priscilla’s father is still alive, he deserves to be present and honoured on her wedding day.
